Genie TMZ 34/19 Error Code 0011

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Recently purchased a Genie TMZ 34/19 towable manlift. I have an extensive amount of tree work to do as well as new gutters on two houses.

Unit is a 2001, S/N T3401-354, and has about 250 hours on it. Unit is entirely battery operated. From the time of purchase I have put about 20 hours on it.

Loaned it to a friend last week and he encountered an issue with it which I cannot figure out. He leveled the lift, got in the basket, and range the first stage of the boom up. Upon attempting to rotate the basket the unit had some sort of error which allowed him only to bring the boom back to the ground. Upon examination he discovered that the unit displayed error codes 0003 and 0011. He pulled up the outriggers and shut it down (figuring it would reset) and tried again only to find that, after leveling it again, all boom functions were disabled. The 0003 code appears to have disappeared while the 0011 persists.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to what this error code indicates for this given serial number unit? I've called my local Sunbelt guy (he wasn't any help) and information on the internet appears to be patchy at best.

Genie Z60/34 need help or service company!!!!

I have a 2005 Genie Z60/34 aerial lift. All boom operations function normally but the unit will not drive but will steer. I cannot figure it out nor do I have the hardware/software to perform any calibrations, or tests. I am located right outside of Philadelphia, PA near the Philadelphia Airport. Does anyone know who performs on site service for this equipment in my area. I have not had much luck to this point. Also, any advice on how I could repair it myself would be great too....just in case I can't get anyone out to look at it.

Older JCB 506b hydraulic problem

Just rebuilt the dash and cab wiring harness after sitting for a year after it all melted down in a fire. I took plenty of pics that I'll be posting later. Anyway much to my surprise pretty much everything seems to be working. except the boom extend & retract functions. When you hit the lever you can hear and feel it doing something the boom just doesn't move. I put my hand on the hoses @ the manifold on the cylinder itself and you can feel flow through them when you stroke the levers. Calling the local dealership tomorrow for some troubleshooting tips and maybe a price on the valve block. Just thought I'd throw it up on here and see what people had to say.

Any experience with Solid tires

I'm ready for 4 new tires for my Gradall and have been planning to buy a set on EBay and have them mounted and foamed. I pretty well had the costs chiseled down to as low as I could, but when I went to buy them, I saw many adds for solid tires with wheels and free shipping that beat my earlier estimates by more than a grand. Has anyone had any experience with them? They seem like a great idea, and are definately a super deal...if they work!

Genie TZ-50 Basket only moves in one direction

I've got a Genie TZ-50 that has the option that articulates the basket left and right in addition to swinging the entire boom. For whatever reason the basket only moves right no matter whether we use the Blue or Yellow motion buttons. I've been told by one of my guys that if he messes with it a whole bunch (pushing the buttons) that he eventually gets it to move left. I haven't been so lucky and right now the basket is swung all the way right.

I tried calling Genie, they sent me to my local dealers (who really only rent equipment) so they haven't been much help.

I'm going to try and isolate the 24v Picker relay's that might be responsible for that motion, but I'm wondering what else I could/should be looking at. It's not a complicated chain, some wiring, a relay or 2 and a valve or 2. I just need to figure out what needs to be replaced.

Any ideas on this one?

Using Two JLG's for one Lift

All,

As the user name might imply I am new to the industry and am being asked if we can use two Rough Terrain Forklifts in combination for a lift. I can find plenty of info regarding the use of multiple cranes, but NOT off-road forklifts.
I appreciate any input.

Hydraulic Cylinder, How does it come apart

This cylinder is on a Champ forklift mode 350-80 built in 1985.

It looks like a ring in the small hole, I can turn the packing gland round and round so it is not threaded in.

Clark DPM 25 Forklift info

Hi guys, i'm looking for some information on a Clark DPM25 forklift, its a 1994 model. Basically looking for some info on what type of trans oil it uses? My brothers recently bought one from his work (cheap) and it has an issue climbing up slight gradients. We're both plant engineers, i've not seen the truck yet but he thinks the oil's just low and need topping up so that's the first port of call. Also, does anyone have service manuals for the machine. Thanks in advance

GENIE TMZ 34/19 problem

Just picked up a 2002 genie 34/19 in NH. We replace new batteries. Nothing works but the horn. Turn on the key , goes thru self test, outrigger lights light then blink then goes out.
The only thing that stays on is the battery charge lights all green except bottom one is red. and the error code lights on the side ----. outrigger lights are off. Everything is retracted and in storage position

If we open the control box, the boards are blue, there are 2 green indicators on the rear cpu and one green one on, and one off, on the touch board. These do not show thru the touch pad and there are no hole for the green led to show through, i think the board and touch pads have been replace from what the owner told us.

Press any button and nothing works or lights up. If you press down arrow you do get a 0003 error on the fault. , press another arrow such as up and error goes away to-----. we have 25.23 volts at the anderson plug.

We are thinking of replacing both control units with was stated in previous thread "new" style controls,,,,costly.And the question is are the new boxes plug & play
.
we are hoping for a simplier less costly alt.

5028 skytrak HELP

I have been working on a 5028 skytrak with the c6 transmission every time I put it in gear as long as I hit the gas it will go when it is sitting still in gear then the Engine will stall out and die... My first thought was torque converter so I replaced it but I still have the same problem.... I need help I don't know a whole lot about transmission but I'm one hell of a mechanic I just need to be lead to the right spot HELP

5028 skytrak HELP

The (telescope in) stopped workin from the basket. If you use the main control panel on the machine the telescope works perfect.when i open the main board box up and I push the lever for tele in fromn the basket,the led lights come on witch means that the board is getting a signal from the basket.(the same lights light up when I control it from the ground) but like i said it telescopes in from the ground control but not the baske.Any help would be appeciated...

Help with an older skyjack 3220 won't go down

I have an older skyjack lift and recently we replaced the control box with a new one. That cured a lot of problems with the lift but now if you go all the way up and Mac it out it will not lower you. Only way if someone is on the ground and opens the dump valve can you get down any help would be great thank you

Cat VC60D transmission output seal.

Hi there, new to forum. I am trying to change the transmission output seal on a Cat VC60d serial # 4cc466. I have the short drive shaft off but can not seem to get the yoke out of the transmission. I do not have a service or parts manual for this one only for the other T series trucks we own and this is different. Local Cat dealer was not any help either with this old girl. The yoke in the front diff. just slides out but the one in the trans doesn't . Is there a internal snap ring holding it to the output shaft? Have tried pry bar, slide hammer, wedges and no move. Any ideas???? Thanks.....

1982 40 foot Jlg Model G

Hi folks,
Trying to get this JLG to function properly. The, boom extend, steering, basket tilt and rotate all work perfect. But the Boom lift, swing, travel do not, on ground or basket functions. When you press any of those functions, ground or basket, the motor almost quits because of the pump pressure. Almost like there is another valve off the pump is stuck and not letting oil to which ever function you select. Any ideas what the problem is?? Thanks, Garfield

Genie scissor lift 1930 charging question.

Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I have replaced my batteries 2 times over past 2 years. The charger is providing 25 volts but when we charge overnight, the next days use only works for a few hours at best before its dead. I also now have a dead motor controller and need to replace that first. Was wondering how many amps the charger should be putting out, if that's the problem or is there something else that commonly goes bad that I should check. Thank again

I'm thinking about buying a 1980 644 lull. I've talked to a couple of people about it. They told me to be careful because a machine this old might not pick the weight that it's capable of picking. Is this true. Any info about this question will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Forklift Servicing

Hi guys,

We have a Crown counterbalance truck and a CAT Reach Truck. The Reach truck is starting to get a bit juddery/jumpy when it's nearing the top of it's reach so I've arranged a service on both trucks.

Can anyone let me know what I should expect from a service? Other than fluid top ups, what else actually gets serviced?

I asked the company that are coming out what they do and they said "we carry out a 63 point check on electric trucks with lubrication & adjustments if needed".

It just sounds more like a check up than a service?

Your wisdom and knowledge is appreciated :)

Genie TMZ50 0015 Fault

Good afternoon all,

I recently obtained a Genie TMZ50/30 Towable Boom, and it has been upgraded to blue boards. We continue to have a 0015 code, but if i take the ground control touchpad loose, the 0015 disappears and platform controls work. This would be fine, but I cannot operate the outriggers. They are currently extended and I cannot retract them. I can occasionally get the ground control touchpad connected without a code, but the pad still does not function. Does anybody have any experience with this piece of equipment? Please let me know if anybody has any suggestions or remedies. Thanks.
