Hi there I'm working with a 2003 model JCB 540-70 telehandler. It's a good machine but it is missing the operators manual. Does anyone know a reliable source other than the dealership? I have the service manual.. go figure.. failing a manual, can anyone give me the re-phasing instructions for the steering? I've just finished adjusting the sensors and it is pretty good but it still never feels like it's going in a straight line.

JLG 400CRT dual fuel Kubota
Got 2 JLG 400CRT with Kubota DF750E engines, will run on propane but when switching to gas it shuts down. Switch back to propane will run fine after it gets running. After switching to gas it won't even fire with ether. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tried finding a manual on engine but didn't find one.

JCB/Gradall G9-43 boom hydraulic hoses repair insane! Advice needed!
We've got a mid 2000's JCB/Gradall G9-43 telehandler and just a week ago we heard some funny noises while on our way to full boom. Shortly after hydraulic fluid started coming out in a rapid fashion so we boomed back and took a look.
Turns out the fork tilt and aux hydraulic lines got tangled up in the chain and are pretty messed up.
No big deal we though, probably a few thousand in repairs...called the JLG dealer and the proceeded to give us a quote.
What happened next no-one could imagine. The repair estimate came in at just shy of $15K!!!!!!!!! I almost had a heart attack!
They have 55 hours labour, and thousands of dollars in parts. This seems insane! The dealer admitted they have not repaired many of these and I think they are being a little hasty. They want to remove the boom from the machine!
I've had another fellow who's repaired them before (a framer by trade) and he makes the story sound much easier but I can't convince him to fix it.
Can someone help with advice? Is this really that big of a job?
Let me know!

Cat T50E wiring problems
recently acquired a Old T50E LP lift serial 1TD that had an engine fire and melted the electrical and vac hoses.
Does anyone have a diagram or schematic they can share?
For vac I "assume" the hose from dissy goes to both the carb, regulator and lockout may be wrong..
Thanks for the help

JLG 450 AJ series II, change hydraulic oil
I have been advised to change/replace the hydraulic oil before moving on with other repairs. I bought 30 gal. of Mobilfluid 424 as JLG recommends and the two filters, pressure and return. I would like to know the step by step procedure so I don't cause any problems or damage such as air in the pump. The service manual doesn't get into it. It just tells capacities and recommended oil and filters. If anyone could give me the step by step procedure I would greatly appreciate it. It has the Deutz diesel it it.

SkyTrak 6036 drive trouble
I have a couple of SkyTrak 6036's of varying age. They each occasionally have an issue with not moving when placed in gear. The park brake is off and the electrical to the valves is fine. You can place in gear and wait for a bit then they will usually start moving. I have changed the transmission fluid and filters and checked to be sure there was no trash making a valve stick. Has anyone else had this problem and figured it out, we have had mechanics look at them but to no avail, said everything was fine.

JCB 530 B Alarm sounding
I have a 1980's JCB 530 forklift. I have owned it since new and an alarm will sound if the key is on but motor not running. It also sounds for a brief time as the motor warms up.
Just the past two days it has stayed on for minutes, then when started a little later only sounds a few seconds.
While it sounds the fuel gauge shows empty and as soon as it stops the fuel reads correctly. I checked oil, and am sure it is not an overheat warning. This machine sits unused for months at a time, but has always started and run fine.
Any thought are appreciated.

Genie Z-45, NO rabbit mode
First post here, I live in Fairbanks AK. and hope someone can help.....
2003, Deutz powered #21905, Genie Z-45.
Will not go into rabbit mode from either the basket or the machine panel.
Working from the machine panel, the switch works, the resistor appears ok, the relay clicks and I tried another relay.
However we are not getting any current to the solenoid that operates the governor???
The plan is to bypass the loom and see if I can make the solenoid work, assume its a damaged wire somewhere or connection....
This particular machine has low hours and is in good shape so would be surprised to have a damaged wire in the loom. This machine has a lot of relays and sensors, starting with the basics, perhaps I am missing something.....
Thanks, John

Skyjack 7135 problems
Hi,
I'm having problems with this 2WD diesel lift. It worked fine, but now no beeping or light comes on to the upper console like it used to.
Relays make contact when moving the joystick, but only thing that does anything is the drive action (takes power from the hydraulic pump, but the lift won't move)
Checked so far:
- Battery
- Cleaned contacts
- Tested limit switches
- Outrigger control module's red led shows code 2-2 (outriggers not on ground), but I don't know if that completely disables the whole thing...
Good ideas anyone?

Lull 844 34 tt 1986 brakes heat up ?
I just purchased my second mid 80s lull. I just got the 1986 machine delivered. BUT due some unfortunate circumstances the delivery guy couldn't make it all the way to my property. So I needed to drive it 3 miles up a mtn rd. The seller warned me that there is a factory defect in the brake design that causes the brakes to over heat and forces the machine to stop. Turns out he was right! Only made it about 1/2 mile and could hear the brakes grabbing. Turns out this system uses a drum/pumpkin design which has hydraulic lines running to it. I waited for 30 minutes tried to move the machine and the brakes were stillooking siezed.
The machine is still waiting there for me half way up the mtn in the rain. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Seller told me that they rebuilt the brakes several times to try and fix the problem.
I have a working 1984 same model that uses a different braking system.
Any insight is appreciated. Otherwise I'd going to be a long trip home. ...

JCB 550 transmission and steering problems
Hi hoping someone can help me out a lil, I picked up a 550 load all and I had no idea of the history all I know is that they were using it for parts for some of their other machines so I had some broken parts thrown in with it
When I got it the right front hub was broken at the track bar that keeps both front wheels turning the same direction, rear drive shaft was missing, steering shaft and wheel was torn apart and broken one laying in the cab on the floor. It's missing some various sensors and other stuff like that.
I have replaced the right hub and steering wheel shaft, since then and gotten it running. The boom functions as it should but the steering won't work I suspect the steering unit is the problem. It has 5 hoses going in and out of it, I can unhook both left and right and return line outputs only leaving pump pressure going in and the pressure return going back to the pump hooked up. if you turn the steering wheel to the left it's sorta hard to turn and nothing really happens and not much oil comes out of the open hose when you turn to the right it feels like it hits a stop, and some really foamy looking oil comes from the right port and both the oil supply line from the pump and the pressure sensing line going back to the pump get rock hard when your turning the wheel in a right direction and hit that hard spot almost seems like it wants to burst those 2 hoses and all of the other 3 hoses combines don't hardly dump enough oil to even fill a beer can when running it for over a min or so. I assume with nothing hooked up going out of the steering unit and only having pump pressure going in and out there is NOTHING electronic that could even be causing this problem, I should get a steady stream of oil from the right and left when putting those inputs in the steering wheel correct?
Also one time when messing with it after I got the hub on I was able to move it forward and backwards under it's own power unable to steer at all, the trans oil pressure light has been on and now I get nothing from the transmission not even a hint of movement from the output shaft on the trans when you put it in either forward or reverse and it is full of fluid not sure how it could move one time no problem than not the next. Backup beeper and all that works so I assume it's getting all the signals to the trans and it looks like there isn't much in the line of electronics that controls the fluid pressure from the torque converter, wondering if there is a sort of charge pump on the trans for the converter if it is built into the converter and that is where my problem is, but I sorta of rule out electrical once again since I have the trans fluid pressure light on.
I have no clue as to what was broken or how, the spindle looks like it was removed maybe off another machine and the steering shaft was for sure taken from it for a diffrent machine. The steering unit looks like it hadn't been removed just by how the hoses were still hooked up but I don't know that forsure, they were using this unit as a parts machine for their other 2 running units. I recall them having transmission problems with one of the units not sure if this was the one and they robbed steering parts off it or if the steering broke on this unit and then sitting for a couple years and pulling parts off it caused the trans problem and steering unit problems. One of the joys of getting the machine as a basket case and not having a single clue as to the history or events of stuff that happened to it.
I have alot of $ tied up in this machine and now the steering unit and trans are costly items just wondering if anyone can tell me from what I describe if I am on the right course of action or if I am missing something simple, I know the steering and transmission are both on their own pumps and steering is on with the loader functions and it has pressure for sure. Any help would be great Thanks SO much for your time.

Jcb hydraulic tank leak
Hello. I recently purchased a used jcb 520. It looks like there's a hydraulic fluid leak coming from the tank. It appears as if someone hit the tank and it shifted a little. What would be the best way to fix such a leak? I've been reading....some say welding, some say a 2-part compound that dries as hard as cement. Which would be considered the best method? I've never worked on heavy equipment before but I'm pretty good with my hands. Is it difficult to remove hydraulic lines that are connected to the tank?? Any tips or tricks will be greatly appreciated. My plan was to drain the tank, remove it, and have it welded.

1994 JLG 45HA Questions
Hello to all.
I just purchased a used 1994 JLG 45HA and I have a few questions and things I would like to fix on the machine.
I do have a couple operations moving slower than the rest, so I bought the test harness for the controllers so I can re-calibrate/test them. I put a pressure gauge on, and it builds pressure, but slower than the rest.
One of the questions I have, is for the drive. It is only 2WD, but it seems that the motors are only linked together (hyd with the divider valve) in the forward direction. Has anyone ever looked at adding another divider valve to the reverse line, so both wheels are driving in the reverese? I will be doing quite a bit on grass, and I was hoping the 2WD would be enough for what I am doing, but was disappointed in the reverse driving.
The drive alarm does not work. There appears to be a notor controller for it that is burned up. When I look up the part, it's $580. I can't see spending that kind of money on it, but would like to fix it. Anyone know of a newer modern kit that would work? The alrm does work wit 12V on it. I traced the wires back, and ihave 12V and the FOR and REV feed wires, but I assume they are from the controller, and not 12V feeds, so something needs to monitor those and drive the alarm. Hence the $580 controller.
Also, it has a 120V box at the platform. There is a 120V plug in the engine compartment. Is that just an expensive extendsion cord? It does not have the genererator, but I wish it did.
Instead of the expensive $2K generator, anyone ever add an inverter to the machine? I am possibly looking a doing that sometime, maybe in the spring.
Other than that, it seems to be a good machine. I will be looking into tires possibly. They look like crap, but they are foam filled, so they work.
Thanks for any help. There is a lot of good info on here that I have been reading thru.
